Evelyn Resh is a certified sexuality counselor with The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. She is also a certified nurse-midwife with over 20 years of experience as an integrative health and sexuality practitioner. In addition, she is a frequent speaker on the topic of sexual health and satisfaction to both professional and lay audiences. Her speaking style is equally known and appreciated for its thought provoking content as well as its warmth and humor.
Evelyn has been the Director of Sexual Health Services at Canyon Ranch health desitnation proertiy in Lenox as well as Miraval Resort in Tucson, Arizona. In both settings, she was responsible for introducing the concept of sexuality as an integrative part of over-all health and wellness. Her first book: The Secret Lives of Teen Girls: What Your Mother Wouldn’t Talk About but Your Daughter Needs to Know (Hay House 2009) takes a distinctly sex-positive spin on the topic of sexually active teen girls. She believes that adolescence provides us with a fabulous opportunity to help our daughters (and sons) develop a life-long satisfying relationship to sex – if we take advantage of it and help our kids to develop healthy relationships to pleasure. Her second book: Women, Sex, Power, and Pleasure: Getting the life (and Sex) You Want (Hay House 2013) will be released in Spring 2013. She has also written for many websites including Oprah.com and The Huffington Post. She currently continues to practice as both a women’s health care specialist and a sexuality counselor. She also has frequent speaking engagements with diverse audiences throughout the US.
Evelyn lives in a beautiful small hill town of western Massachusetts with her spouse of many years. She does her best to walk the talk in the face of a demanding professional life. This includes (but is not limited to) no interruptions during morning coffee, daily walks in the woods with her dogs, spending time with people she loves, and laughing as much as possible. She also makes a point of keeping her eye out for pleasurable opportunities throughout the day, no matter how busy she is.
